Town of Bell Parks and Lands June Meeting Minutes
Monday, August 3, 2026 – 5:00 pm @ Cornucopia Community Center
Chair Doug Becker called the meeting to order at 5:02 pm.
Committee members present: Doug Becker, Gordon Anderson, Richard Dunn
Others present: Judy Becker, Paul Ehlers
Absent: Steve Rudd, Gina Emily
Old Business:
- Motion to approve the June, 2026 minutes by G. Anderson, seconded by R. Dunn; passed.
- Budget review: no update.
- Maintenance Update:
- Marina bathrooms: D. Becker repaired maintenance door locking mechanism. He will install a better handle. Damaged urinal in men’s bathroom repaired.
- Town Posting Board (by Post Office): warped backing will be repaired.
- Broken board on beach playground equipment was replaced.
- Campground:
- Siskiwit Lake sign: discussion on installation in fall.
- QR code payments being used. No report on amount brought in.
- Siskiwit Lake Boat Launch: QR code donation sign installed. $84 in cash collected between April and June. Old dock still needs to be removed.
- Cornucopia Sign: waiting for DOT permit.
- Flowing Well Kiosk Drainage/Swenson Pavilion Flooding: no update.
- “Liberty” shelter has been completed. P. Ehlers requested assistance installing informational sign. Discussion on placing ropes around the “Liberty” similar to the other boats.
- Fish Fry Shed painted. R. Dunn and crew will give it a second coat.
New Business:
- Solar Light Pole: tilt will be straightened in fall.
- Cornucopia Club Pavilion: previously approved by the committee pending further information. Suggested location: between playground and Highway C.
- Dunes Fencing: areas need repair. D. Becker will investigate.
- Bench request by Linda Nedden-Durst: no update.
- Next meeting: Monday, September 14, 2026, at 5 pm at the Community Center.
