Town of Bell Plan Commission Meeting
April 11, 2024

Meeting called to order at 4:00 PM.
In attendance: Jackie Eid, Nancy Moye, Jody Hipsher, John Anderson, Mark Ehlers. Guest: Judy Kerr.
1. Review/Approve Prior Meeting Minutes: Anderson makes motion to approve February minutes (no March meeting due to lack of quorum). Seconded by Eid, approved unanimously.
2. Updates/Correspondence: Eid provides updates on correspondence received as a Board member regarding pending applications for new Town STR licenses. Moye notes that the Town of Clover may be investigating the potential imposition of a room tax.
3. Senior Housing Update/Discussion: The Town’s senior housing working group, in conjunction with the Bayfield County Housing Authority, is beginning the process of sketching out specific parameters for a senior housing development in the Town, including location, number of units, etc. This work is being facilitated by a planning grant awarded to the County on behalf of the Town.
4. Amend or Accept Comprehensive Plan as Written: Ehlers makes motion to amend the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, seconded by Anderson, approved unanimously. Work to review the current Comprehensive Plan and outline the process for updates and revisions will begin in May; at some point this work may also involve a review and suggested modifications to the Town’s Plan Commission ordinance.
5. May Meeting Date: Next meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 9 at 4:00 PM.
Motion to adjourn by Ehlers, seconded by Moye, approved unanimously. Meeting concluded at 4:50 PM.
