ATV/UTV Discussion
From Washburn to Cornucopia there are 4 different stretches of Cty C open to ATRV/UTV use.
16 counties in Wisconsin have ALL county highways open to ATV/UTV traffic.
Safety is always a concern. Towns are not liable for accidents.
Don’t expect a constant stream of ATV/UTV traffic on Cty C. Could be sporadic in areas. Due to the nature of tires and wear most users prefer trails or gravel.
ATV/UTV users can’t access Lost Creek Falls while they are here.
Recommended to use County speed limit on Cty C.
The State of Wisconsin can be petitioned for accident statistics. Also look at the cause of accidents. Most accidents are on trails.
Newer ATV/UTV’s are equipped with safety items, have head lights, tail lights, some have blinkers. Law requires lights be turned on during operation.
Some nearby counties and percentage of open county highways:
36% Bayfield
99% Douglas
92% Sawyer
75% Ashland
