Town of Bell Plan Commission Meeting
May 9, 2024
Town of Bell Community Center
Meeting called to order at 4:03 PM.
In attendance: Ken Roman, Jody Hipsher, John Anderson, Jackie Eid, Nancy Moye. Guest: Paul Ehlers.
1. Review/Approve Prior Meeting Minutes: Moye makes motion to approve April meeting minutes, seconded by Hipsher, approved unanimously.
2. Updates/Correspondence: The Commission reviewed correspondence received regarding the Town’s new short-term rental ordinance.
3. Vork: Class A Special Use RV Placement exceeding 4 months: Moye makes motion to approve permit, seconded by Hipsher, approved unanimously.
4. Comprehensive Plan: Amend or Adopt: The Commission has already decided to engage in a wholesale amendment of the Comprehensive Plan. Eid asks the Commission as to whether or not a study committee should be engaged to help with the review and revision of information in the Plan. The Commission will begin an incremental and deep review of the current Plan document to identify specific areas and elements that require update/revision, starting with Sections 1 and 2 at the June meeting. After this review is completed and the scope of update-work is ascertained, the Commission will reconsider the idea of empaneling a study committee to help develop the new information necessary to complete the amendment process.
5. Senior Housing Update: The Senior Housing Group via Bayfield County has engaged the services of Design Wisconsin to conduct an on-site conference to begin the work to design a possible senior housing development. This conference will occur most likely in September 2024. More information forthcoming in the interim.
6. June Meeting Date: Next meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 6 at 4:00 PM.
