- Skip
- Kelly will do her best to get the final edits to Todd Johnson. The final report should be done by the next meeting.
- Applications for the 2026 congressionally authorized spending requests are due Monday April 7. Jennifer and Kelly are working furiously to finalize these by Monday. Supporting documents will be helpful and Phil will forward Bell Sanitary Districts letter in this regard to Jennifer and Kelly. Funds request for our project, at least infrastructure needs will be included. Jennifer cautioned that funding is going to be difficult and that “Affordable Housing” Grants come with many building requirements potentially raising costs and occupancy requirements that maybe difficult to manage. We’re most likely going to go for a few smaller sources combined with possible philanthropic funding.
We had a serious discussion about the size of the project. The outcome of Charrette resulted in a plan for 20 units. This resulted from several thoughts: It was designed to fill the space we’d have available, more units would result in lower units’ costs, and it was considered to be the minimum size to attract a developer.
Our concept is to take advantage of many of the concepts coming out of the Charrette but to start with 5 (4-6) units and add more according to demand.
We’ll put a plan together and present it to the board for comments in June and subject to their agreement plan a public meeting to present the plan in the June/July time frame.
- More detailed discussion of the rental agreement will be deferred to a later date. Funding and Fair Housing policies need to be fully investigated.
- Defer the alley issue to future meetings.
- Next meeting will be Thursday May 1, 2025, subject to change due to participant availability.
- Jesse moved and Ken seconded to adjourn. All agreed. Adjourned at 6:27
