6. Reports
A. Harbor Dredging – Dave and Nick from the ACOE gave report. Dave spoke about the
advanced maintenance dredging at the mouth entryway and up the river. There is a need to expand the submerged land lease because a lot of the material is suitable by the DNR to go on the east north side of the beach. Dave submitted a proposal from Nelson Surveying. The harbor commission will have to bare the cost because it will be a town permit that will carry forth from now perpetually into the future. The estimated cost from Nelson will be between $2,200 – $2,400. The current submerged land lease was renewed in 2021 and it goes for twenty years. This new one will either be tied directly to that or will be renewed every five years. The main reason for this is the DNR is concerned that if they do the advanced maintenance in the entryway area they will want more room on the submerged land lease to spread the material. Dredging will take place this summer into maybe the fall it depends on when they get the contract awarded and when they can get it. Pauline made a motion to approve up to $2,500 for Nelson Surveying Doug 2nd passed unanimously. The funds will be taken from the dredging funds.
